Time to Romp and Roll! Shady crept through the tall grasses on the edges of the flat field. She had tasted her fill of small creatures such as ground squirrels and longed for a bigger battle. She laid quietly in the grass and watched for an unsuspecting creature to wander by. She knew this could take some time and settled in for the long haul.
As she rested her head upon her paws she thought back to the old days where she had food in a bowl. Living once a life of luxury, one never does forget. . . The days on the street had consisted of discarded human food found in alleyways and garbage cans. Those bowls were a lot larger, but a lot less satisfying. She'd chased down a few squirrels and a rabbit or two in her lifetime, but she never thought she would one day rely on those skills.
Suddenly, a scent crossed her path, and a plump red bird (humans would call it a pheasant) waddled, scratching the ground a meter or so away. Shady readied herself. Birds are such a pain with their wings... she thought. This bird was not the smartest hen in the flock however and wandered ridiculously close to her. It was then she realized, the bird was grounded, it's wing broken. No longer did she hide and she quickly chased down the bird and pounced on it with her front paws before grabbing and shaking it to end it's life.
She carried her kill happily to a place under a tree, before plopping down again. She dropped the bird in front of her and studied it for a moment while she tried to clear her mouth of feathers. How was she supposed to get rid of these things to eat it?!

Black Demon's long wolf like muzzle worked the ground, his nose twitching frantically. He had learned how to hunt long ago, and he could see that this skill would come in handy in this place, wherever it may be. He stalked closer to his intended prey, his wolf like body hugging the ground. Black Demon's tawny eyes were intently trained upon one of his favorite food sources: a rabbit. He kept his lanky frame low to the ground as he moved slowly closer to his intended meal. When he got close enough, he sprang upon the rabbit, his long, powerful legs propelling forward. His strong jaws snapped down on the rabbit's neck, snapping it instantly. As he trotted off with his kill, the large mutt apologized to the rabbit in his mouth, it was you or me, brother... . He had always hated killing other creatures, even if they were prey.
Black Demon trotted off to find a nice, quiet place to eat his kill, the white mark upon his chest seeming to flash in the sun. Suddenly, the large dog stopped. His pricked up ear swiveled slightly as he caught the tell tale sounds of another dog. He quickly located the other dog and moved slowly toward them. Once he got close to them he stopped, seeing that they had also made a kill. His past experiences had taught him to always be cautious around another dog's meal. "Hello?" He called out, placing the rabbit on the ground between his paws. His tail started to wag, ever so slightly at first, but then it rapidly sped up to a fast pace. "I'm Black Demon, but you can call me Demon. What's your name?"
